Image restoration is the process of digitally removing distracting elements such as scratches and dust. In some cases we can do color restoration.

This service applies to the photography of pieces in collections. The studio has much experience in this field. The necessary equipment is transported to the location of the collection so as not to expose the pieces to the risk of damage on transportation.

The Diary of Frida Kahlo
The job of photographing Kahlo's diary was assigned to Bob for doing the photography in one three-day session with a large format (4 x 5 inches) Sinar camera.
Secretaría de Educación Pública
Bob photographed the famous murals by Diego Rivera at the Public Education Ministry in Mexico City. He took the images with the Sinar, large format camera. Since the building is used for the SEP office work during the day, the team had to work at night, which was necessary so as not light the murals in a perfect way. These images have been published in many Mexican Art books. They have also been printed in full scale in exhibitions in the United States and Europe.
Fundación Tarahumara: Archivo del Dr Otto Röhr
A series of negatives on film were donated to the Fundación Tarahumara, who came to the Archive to order the scanning and image restoration of these lost-in-time images. The photographs where taken in the early 1920's and reflect the everyday life of the Tarahumara people.
Museo de Arte Moderno: La Danza de los Espectros
A collection of art work by five artists that came to Mexico in the middle of the 20th Century. They were influenced by this country's ancestral traditions and combined with their own origins and the Surrealist style, it became an important period of art expression in Mexico. The collection contains work by Leonora Carrington, Alice Rahon, Remedios Varo, José Horna and Wolfgang Paalen.
